This 13th century miniature illuminated manuscript page is the frontispiece for the Bible Moralisee
commissioned around 1220 for the French Royal Court. The masters who painted this operated
out of a workshop in Paris dedicated to High Gothic style. This is the only know restoration and
was done by Larry McClurg of the Mind Garage in 2010. The French caption says,
Here creates God Heaven and Earth Sun and Moon and all the Elements.

THE SERVICE OF THE WORD
OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Genesis 12:
1Now the LORD had said unto Abram,
Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred,
and from thy father's house,
unto a land that I will shew thee:
2And I will make of thee a great nation,
and I will bless thee, and make thy name great;
and thou shalt be a blessing:
ABRAHAMDownload abraham.mp3. Right Click here and save to hard drive
Abram the Pagan, he lived in the land of Ur
That is until he smashed all the idols made by his father
God said don't worry, but ya gotta let me be your only one
Take your sister Sarah and go down to the land of Cannan
God said follow me and Abram took his hand
You know you can trust me cause I am Yah weh I am
Be the father of nations, that forever own this land
Just don't ever doubt me and I'll bless you Abraham
Yes the father of nations and countless sons of sons
But you gotta leave right now take your princess Sara and run
And all the nations of the world thru you will be blessed
God made a promise because Abraham was virtuous
Abraham left the city for a life on the desert road
It wasnt long till drought and famine drove them down to Egypt and Pharoah
The Pharaoh had an eye for beauty and took Sara for own
but not before paying Abraham with servants, fertile land and gold.
But God didnt like it and plagued the Pharoahs house
And Pharoah had enough told Abraham and Sara to leave just get out
God said take your princess and do what you were told
and Abraham built an altar there in Hebron in the oaks
God said to Abraham I'll give you a son
but ten years passed away and baby hadn't come
In desperation Sarah asked her servant Hagar to sleep in
and Pharaoh's daughter Hagar finally give a son to Abraham
Then God said to Sarah I'll give you a son
and Sarah laughed at God and said you know I'm old to
God said you can trust me in a year I'll return
Just don't ever doubt me then Isaac was born
Sarah couldn't stand it, she drove Hagar's son away,
but God felt Ishmael's pain and said don’t worry I am Yah Wey
and just when it seemed at last that all of Abraham's promises were won
God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son
But an angel came to Abraham
Told Abraham set Isaac free
Then God sacrificed his own son
Now the rest is history

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
He leadeth me beside still waters; He restoreth my soul.
He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; for Thou are with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
EPISTLE 1st Corinthians 12:
5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
6There are different kinds of working,
but the same God works all of them in all men.
Gospel John 3:16
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
SERMON: Matthew 5:3-10 Sermon on the Mount

for they will be filled.

8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
THE NICENE CREEDDownload creed.mp3. Right Click here and save to hard drive
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is,
seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord,
Jesus Christ, the only son of God,
begotten of the Father, Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son].
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
AMEN.
OFFERATORY
THE PEACE, COLLECTION, THANKSGIVING and PSALM
Download peacethanksgiving.mp3. Right Click here and save to hard driveThe Peace:
If you are offering your gift at the altar,
and there remember that
your brother has something against you,
leave your gift at the altar and go;
first make peace with your brother,
and then come and offer your gift.
Collection: The collection is taken.
Turn to the person nearest you and shake hands and say:
Peace my friend, and let that person answer: peace.
In that way the peace is passed.
Do not conform to this world,
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that you may live out what is good and acceptable and perfect
in the will of God.
The bread and wine are brought forth.
Thanksgiving:
Lift up your hearts. We give thanks;
we rejoice in the glory of all creation.
On the night he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread,
He gave thanks, He broke it, and gave it to his disciples saying,
“Take, eat; this is my body.
Do this in remembrance of me.” He also took the cup, he gave thanks,
and gave it to them saying, “Drink of it, all of you;
this is my blood of the covenant,
which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
Oh Lord, we return this gift. Accept it Father.
Send down the Spirit of Life and power,
glory and love, upon these people, and upon this bread and wine,
that to us they may be His body and blood.
Now with all men who ever were, are,
and will be, with all creation in all time, with joy we praise the Lord
Psalm 150:
Praise the Lord! Praise Him with harp and lyre.
Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
And now in His words we are bold to say the Lord’s Prayer.
OUR FATHER - THE LORD'S PRAYERDownload our-father.mp3. Right Click here and save to hard drive
The priest breaks the bread and says:
The gifts of God for the people of God.
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever.
Amen.
COMMUNIONDownload communion.mp3. Right Click here and save to hard drive
Communion is the Creator's act through
His people of binding the wounds
and healing a broken humanity.
Sometimes it is a party, sometimes not.
But participation in it signals your desire to take on hope.
Therefore all people confessing their frail humanity
and yearning for a greater one
are welcome to receive Holy Communion.
The people come forth in a single line to receive
the bread and wine.
For the bread shall be said: The body of Christ. Amen
For the wine shall be said: The blood of Christ. Amen.
DISMISSAL:
Go serve the Lord, you are free. Amen.
